Siemens Signs Agreement With BreezeCOM To Deliver Innovations in Wireless LAN Solutions
Joint Press Release from Siemens and BreezeCOM MUNICH, Germany & TEL AVIV, Israel--In a joint announcement today, Siemens Information and Communication Networks (ICN) Group and BreezeCOM, a leading global provider of broadband wireless access solutions, signed a long-term agreement for Siemens to source BreezeCOM's wireless BreezeNET LAN products. This agreement will allow Siemens to provide new options in its HiPath MobileOffice Suite. The first item on offer will be HiPath Wireless, a mobility-enabled LAN solution.
"The agreement with BreezeCOM will allow us to offer our customers superior quality products immediately," stated Martin Schwarz, President HiPath Office Solutions Divison bei Siemens Information and Communications Networks. "The BreezeCOM products are tailor-made for our HiPath portfolio, including the Hicom 150 and 300 and the HiPath 3000 and 5000 solutions. This will allow us to offer our customers wireless networking solutions for general mobility and IP telephony."
"It is a great opportunity for BreezeCOM to be selected by Siemens as the preferred supplier for its wireless networking products," said Zvi Slonimsky, CEO and President for BreezeCOM. "With over one million PABXs deployed, Siemens' installed base represents a huge opportunity for us as Siemens' customers expand their enterprise solutions to incorporate our wireless products."
BreezeNET Wireless LAN solutions reduce the overall cost of network connectivity through reduced installation and infrastructure costs, primarily in outdoor building-to-building connectivity. They also facilitate rapid deployment, temporary networks and mobile connectivity to LANs in both indoor and outdoor environments.
In a wireless building-to-building application, outdoor wireless solutions connect LANs in diverse locations, removing the need to lay cable and saving recurring leased line fees. In a campus mobility or roaming environment, the growing use of portable PCs has generated the need for mobile access to critical business information, the Internet, Intranet, e-mail and databases. Providing employees both access to company sources as well as the ability to process information, from wherever they are in the location, increases productivity significantly.
BreezeNET satisfies a wide range of customers, including small to large corporations, campuses, educational and medical institutions, transportation, manufacturing, retail, municipalities, as well as ad-hoc temporary networks for exhibitions and conferences.
As a wireless manufacturer, BreezeCOM is distinctive in delivering the best of both Frequency Hopping (FH) and Direct Sequence (DS) technologies. BreezeCOM's flagship BreezeNET PRO.11 product line uses Frequency Hopping and is optimized to perform in high density and noisy environments, while the BreezeNET DS.11 series is excellent for applications requiring higher data rates. BreezeCOM's expertise in both technologies enables it to satisfy the most demanding wireless networking requirements.
