Alvarion's Wireless Equipment Helps San Diego County Deputies Stay on the Streets

SAN DIEGO -- Alvarion Ltd., a leading provider of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) solutions, today announced it has successfully installed a wireless LAN system that interconnects the San Diego Sheriff's Department's patrol vehicles to the department's LAN at all stations, jails, courts and other facilities.

Alvarion's new system allows officers to complete paperwork, download files and access e-mail and other offices functions from the convenience of their patrol vehicles. The reduction in office functions will then allow officers to focus on other aspects of police work and street duties. The system includes BreezeNET PRO.11 station adapters in about 650 Sheriff's vehicles, plus installation of approximately 70 access points and antennas at all Sheriff's facilities.
