InnoWave Announces The Commercial Release of its Wireless DSL FWA Solution The enhanced MultiGain Wireless (eMGW)

Hanover, March 12, 2002 InnoWave ECI Wireless Systems Ltd. (InnoWave), a global leader of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solutions, and an ECI Telecom company (NASDAQ/NM symbol: ECIL) announces the commercial release of its wireless DSL FWA Solution - the enhanced MultiGain Wireless (eMGW) at Cebit 2002, expanding its range of FWA solutions.

The eMGW is a cost-effective point-to-multipoint FWA system that delivers both fast Internet access, up to 512Kbps, and toll quality voice, producing the ultimate wireless DSL solution. Using hybrid technology, the eMGW transmits voice over circuit switching and data over packet switching, to optimize the use of valuable spectrum resources. The eMGW is available in a wide range of spectrum bands from 1.5 to 3.8GHz and 5.7GHz.

The eMGW answers the rapidly growing demand for advanced, high quality and cost-effective access systems delivering voice and data services at high traffic rates.

The eMGW utilizes the leading edge technology and experience acquired from world wide deployment of InnoWave’s renowned MultiGain Wireless (MGW) system that services more than 650,000 subscribers.

As a result, investment in existing MGW networks is protected, as both systems coexist and can be installed on the same site, sharing the same frequency band.  Both systems are fast and easy to deploy in the most challenging topographical terrain.

Combined, these complementary systems provide operators with an exceptionally versatile and cost-effective solution for the provision of reliable and advanced voice and data services to SOHO (Small Office Home Office) and residential subscribers.

InnoWave’s complete product range can be managed together using InnoWave’s comprehensive management system, the IMS.

Two successful eMGW field tests were conducted in cooperation with customers, Global Village Telecom (GVT) in Brazil and Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. (TPSA) in Poland. In both cases, the system was installed within existing MGW sites. Senior managers, technicians and academics rigorously checked, witnessed and verified the eMGW’s advanced capabilities: toll quality voice, fast Internet access speeds, low delay, live videoconference, real time movie streaming over the web and VPN application.

The MultiGain Wireless (MGW). The MGW is a point-to-multipoint system based on field proven Spread Spectrum FH-CDMA technology. The MGW delivers toll quality voice, high speed voice band data (V.92) and ISDN-BRI. The MGW is available in wide range of frequencies from 800MHz up to 3.8GHz. Over 650,000 lines, in over 45 countries have already been installed in a wide variety of urban, suburban and rural environments.

The WaveGain™-2 is an advanced point-to-multi-point fixed broadband wireless access system that enables operators to provide a complete set of voice and data services at speeds up to 4Mbps. Services in demand by SMEs (Small-To-Medium) enterprises such as E1 for PABX, Ethernet for LAN, Leased Line services, VPN and LAN to LAN as well as POTS and ISDN services typically required from Small Office Home Office (SOHO) and residential subscribers are all supported by the WaveGain™-2. The WaveGain™-2 employs broadband CDMA air interface increasing capacity, making the system a most economical broadband solution for operators.
